​​Hi I'm Tichanda! 

    I've been baking for as long as I can remember. I spent my summers in Enfield, NC where I learned how to bake by watching my grandmother and her sisters in the kitchen. There were 9 Whitaker sisters and I learned a lot from all of them. 

 

Mama always made fresh apple pies and peach cobblers and Aunt Naomi baked pound and bundt cakes. I was always warned to be quiet and calm so I wouldn't make Aunt Naomi's cakes "fall"! My Aunt Hazel always used to greet the neices and nephews with "Hey Sugar Puddin'!" She was  the inspiration behind the name of my little bake shoppe.

 

I soon found myself baking birthday cakes and cupcakes for family and friends. I like to experiment with new flavors and recipes and love how happy people get when they see me coming with a tray of treats! There's nothing better than making someone else smile. :) 

 

I take pride in everything I do. I want my sweets to not only taste good, but to look good too! I think  Mama and her sisters would be proud!
